Timepieces to Remember: The Best Watches of 2025
Can you believe it? We’re already reflecting on the best watches of 2025! This year passed by in a flash, but it was filled with exciting releases that truly left a mark. While I stepped back from vintage watch purchases this year, I found myself captivated by new models. The modern pieces stood out to me, primarily due to their exceptional wearability. Let’s dive into some of my favorites!
This year was particularly exciting, thanks to both well-established brands and emerging independents showcasing their latest creations. Thinner cases and well-proportioned diameters really caught my eye. Although prices remained high, I noticed that many smaller brands are putting an even greater emphasis on value. Curious to see my top picks for the best watches of 2025? Let’s take a closer look!
The Ming 37.11 Odyssey and Its Stunning Polymesh Bracelet
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Ming watches, so it’s no surprise that one made my list of the best watches of 2025. The Swiss-based brand had a phenomenal year, releasing more models than ever. One particularly caught my attention – the 37.11 Odyssey, which I just had to add to my collection! It really felt like a celebration of my return to a full-time corporate role. With its unique 24-hour indicator, this sold-out watch may not be the most practical, but it’s undeniably stunning to wear and admire.
Perhaps the most exciting introduction this year was the Polymesh titanium bracelet. Honestly, I’ve never experienced anything like it! The material is so lightweight and flexible that it feels almost surreal. For comfort, it’s right up there with the best vintage Rolex bracelets I’ve tried. This game-changing accessory, priced at CHF 1,500, stands out as one of the most significant innovations in 2025.
Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF 36mm in Stone Blue
Believe me, one day I will own the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF 36mm in Stone Blue. Parmigiani has been on fire lately, with watches that make me exclaim, “Audemars who?” Okay, maybe that’s a bit hyperbolic, but the fit and finish of this piece are simply exquisite. The Stone Blue is the first luxury watch I’ve wanted in a long time. While I’ve seen it in gray, there’s something about that blue that just captivates me. Priced at CHF 21,400, I’ll need to start saving diligently, but I’m determined to make this a 2026 reality.
The Aquastar Benthos Professional: A Dive Watch With Flair
Thanks to Rick Marei’s leadership, Aquastar continues to evolve its collection. With standout designs like the skin-diver-style Deepstar series and the C-cased Benthos, they’ve added a new model this year that blends elegance with functionality. The Benthos Professional impressively boasts a 300m depth rating and a thickness of just 13.9mm. Moreover, the placement of the helium valve resembles the original 500, all while offering a level of finishing typically seen on high-end watches. At just US$1,590 with an Isofrane strap, this watch is an excellent value for those seeking a capable dive watch with vintage charm.
The Ollech & Wajs OW C-1000 Y: Bold and Functional
The Ollech & Wajs OW C-1000Y made its way onto my list of the best watches of 2025 for its robust design and elemental appeal. It channels the spirit of the legendary Caribbean but integrates modern updates in both case shape and construction. This watch maintains an impressive 1,000m depth rating, paired with a striking matte yellow dial. Although its thickness of 15.9mm may seem hefty, much of that is due to the beautifully domed sapphire crystal. With a comfortable 39.5mm diameter and a competitive price of CHF 1,896, it’s truly a remarkable deal when you consider shipping and duties are included.
Panerai Luminor Marina Militare PAM05218: Back to Basics
You might be surprised to see a Panerai on my list of the best watches of 2025, but it’s true! The brand has been making strides to return to its roots, focusing on producing straightforward, beautifully crafted timepieces. This year, the €8,500 Luminor Marina Militare PAM05218 epitomized that vision and sold out quickly, proving that Panerai is still capable of evoking desire. I had the opportunity to try a prototype at their London boutique, and I can confidently say that the new Panerai can still turn heads.
The Arnold & Son Constant Force Tourbillon 11: A Masterpiece in Timekeeping
Undoubtedly, one of the standout releases of 2025 is the Arnold & Son Constant Force Tourbillon 11. The homage to two legendary watchmakers brings warmth to my heart. Even though both Breguet and Arnold & Son hail from different generations, this timepiece beautifully pays tribute to their iconic friendship. With a breathtaking white Grand Feu enamel dial and an extraordinary movement, this limited-edition watch, with just 11 pieces released and priced at CHF 129,800, is undeniably a beauty that collectors eagerly snatched up.
A Quick Wrap-Up of the Best Watches of 2025
There were certainly many other impressive releases this year! Omega made waves with its revamped Seamaster Planet Ocean, while MB&F wowed watch enthusiasts with its inventive SP One. Not to mention, Grand Seiko also released some remarkable pieces. Overall, 2025 proved to be an excellent year for watch lovers, and let’s hope 2026 brings even more innovations!
