Celebrate 250 Years of American Independence with Zenith’s Chronomaster Revival Liberty II
Zenith has officially unveiled the Chronomaster Revival Liberty II to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States—a stunning tribute that follows the brand’s original North American exclusive from several years back. This new model enhances Zenith’s historical connection to American industrial history, rooted in the vision of founder Georges Favre-Jacot, who made the transformative journey to the U.S. in the 19th century. Inspired by American manufacturing techniques, he established Switzerland’s first integrated watch manufacture, marking the genesis of a unique transatlantic bond.
This latest release draws inspiration from that pivotal history while fitting snugly into Zenith’s growing collection of region-specific editions. While the earlier Liberty model emphasized 1960s aesthetics, this version leans more into a commemorative spirit, beautifully marrying vintage proportions with modern materials and a symbolic color palette.
Key Features of the Zenith Chronomaster Revival Liberty II
The Chronomaster Revival Liberty II showcases a classic 37mm tonneau-shaped case, reminiscent of the iconic 1969 A384. There are two material options available in this release: the primary stainless steel edition, featuring a balanced blend of brushed and polished finishes, and a limited forged carbon variant for a more avant-garde flair. Both models sport a thickness of 12.6mm and are water-resistant up to 50 meters.
The dial is elegantly crafted in a panda layout, showcasing a striking white lacquered surface paired with blue concentric-grained sub-dials. Zenith has added multiple patriotic touches to enhance the display, such as a central chronograph seconds hand embellished with alternating red and white stripes. The tachymeter scale boasts a bold red “250” mark, while the date disc at 4:30 highlights the “4” in a vivid red, alluding to the anniversary of American independence.
At its heart, the watch boasts the El Primero 400 caliber, a direct descendent of the original high-frequency chronograph from 1969. Operating at an impressive 36,000 vibrations per hour, it offers a 50-hour power reserve. The case back is etched with “America 250th Anniversary,” and the sapphire window reveals a beautifully blued column wheel. For the stainless steel model, you can choose between a Gay Frères-style ladder bracelet or a blue Cordura-effect rubber strap; the carbon version comes exclusively with the rubber strap.
Making a Statement
The Chronomaster Revival Liberty II is a refined commemorative piece that strikes a perfect balance—not too loud, yet undeniably impactful. With its 37mm footprint inspired by the A384, Zenith successfully appeals to vintage aficionados. The inclusion of a forged carbon case alongside the stainless steel version adds an enticing contrast between heritage and modernity. This release is more than just a nod to a calendar date; it celebrates a significant historical connection.
Both models will be exclusively available in the U.S. market. The stainless steel edition is limited to 250 pieces, while the forged carbon version is even more exclusive, capped at just 25 units. Pricing is set at $10,600 for the steel edition and $13,400 for the carbon version. What are your thoughts on this limited-edition release from Zenith?
