When Fortis first launched the Marinemaster series, they introduced both 40mm and 44mm models. The 40mm version serves as the “entry-level” Marinemaster, first appearing in four vibrant colors. The larger M-44 kicked off with just the bold Amber Orange, but soon after, additional color options rolled out. Alongside its larger case and robust specs, the M-44 showcases a different dial design. Unlike the smaller models that typically feature a solid-color dial, most larger variants come with a black dial paired with a colored rehaut for the minute track. The Black Resin model features a black DLC-coated crown and bezel lock, with a black dial that displays the same white ring at the base of the rehaut. The logo and text mirror the Gravity Black model in white, but the minute track features gold-toned numerals and hash marks.
The hands and markers are plated with 3N (yellow) gold and filled with beige Super-LumiNova X1, giving the Black Resin model a unique warmth. Interestingly, when viewed side by side, the Black Resin’s dial often appears a deep green, particularly in certain lighting conditions.
